I have over 30 years of experience exploring and teaching numerous styles of music. I started my journey as a music student playing organ and piano in the 1979. In 1984 I began playing guitar. I started teaching guitar and bass in 1989, and since that time have taught guitar, bass, piano, improvisation, performance, recording, composition, etc. in college classrooms, high schools and middle schools, in master classes, clinics, seminars, and online.

I hold a Master of Fine Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College with an emphasis on Guitar/Music performance, improvisation, digital technology, music pedagogy, interdisciplinary thought, and collaboration. I also hold a bachelors degree in Jazz Guitar Performance and a bachelors degree in Music Theory and Composition from SUNY New Paltz.

If you want to learn your favorite songs, find your unique voice in music, learn how to play in a band, write and record you own music, learn to play from scratch and develop a solid musical foundation, or break out of a rut with your playing, I can help you meet your goals and achieve your dreams. As your guide, my job is to help you achieve your musical goals while expanding your ideas of what is possible with a creative music practice.
